CELEBRATING KITCHEN & BATHROOM DESIGN EXCELLENCE

OUR JOURNEY
Established in 2000, the inception of the Designer Kitchen and Bathroom Awards marked a modest beginning. Initially conceived as a gathering of design professionals, the event, then known by its humble title, aimed to commend excellence in kitchen and bathroom design. Its inaugural ceremony, hosted in London at Conran restaurant Quaglino’s, welcomed 150 guests, pioneering a novel approach to honouring design innovation.
Since those early days, the awards have grown in both scale and significance. Evolving from its intimate roots, the ceremony has graced prestigious venues such as The Brewery, Lords Cricket Ground, Grand Connaught Rooms, Old Billingsgate, and even iconic landmarks like the Tower of London and Wembley Stadium. Today, it attracts a sizable gathering of 400-500 attendees, reflecting its elevated status within the kitchen and bathroom design community.
One hallmark of the event is its distinguished line-up of Lifetime Achievement Award recipients, a coveted honour bestowed upon luminaries of design. Esteemed figures such as Philippe Starck, Roberto Palomba, Paolo Pininfarina, Johnny Grey, Karim Rashid, Ross Lovegrove, and Mark Wilkinson (whose memory the award now commemorates), have graced the stage to accept this prestigious accolade.
In 2012, the awards underwent a transformative evolution, transitioning into a grander affair. With the introduction of celebrity hosts and elaborate after-parties, the event metamorphosed from a daytime gathering into a glamorous extravaganza, spanning from noon till midnight.
As we usher in 2024, a new chapter unfolds in the awards' history. Under the banner of Designerati Awards, we embark on an evening celebration at our state-of-the-art venue, City Central at the HAC, nestled in the heart of London.
